Water Resources To Bookmark Now

The saying “water is life” is so true! Us humans are made mostly of water and need it to survive and function well. Quality water is a must for optimal health and just like the food you eat…it’s wise to be diligent in knowing where your water comes from and what’s in it. Have you paused to question what’s in the water you drink or bathe in everyday? By now, most of us are aware of the toxicities that can lurk in public tap water such as chlorine…fluoride…and lead — just to name a few.

Our family sets aside time about every month to go and collect fresh spring water that we consume daily and tastes amazing.

I will be sharing two websites that will help you learn more about what’s in your water and where you can access it (FOR FREE)!

The first site I will be sharing is a wonderful resource worth knowing about called findaspring.com. Here you can search their amazing database of cold and hot springs for drinking or soaking all over the world. I have been using Find A Spring since 2013 when I first learned about it while attending the Institute of Integrated Nutrition.

Wondering where to begin looking into your water quality?

Go to your favorite search engine (lately I like goduckgo.com) and type “your city/towns name water quality report” and the results should be at the top. Your local government’s website should have their yearly water quality reports posted to the public and easily available.

Unfortunately, a passing grade from the government does not always guarantee that your water is safe. Which leads me to share another great (and free) resource from the Environmental Working Group or most commonly known as EWG and that is their Tap Water Database. Regardless of what the water quality report says from either your local government or EWG, the only way to really know the water coming out of your own house is to get it tested independently. If you have a private well, you will have to get it tested on your own.

EWG has endless resources to help you understand and learn more about your tap water such as their “EWG'S GUIDE TO SAFE DRINKING WATER” and “WHY EWG STANDARDS FOR DRINKING WATER?” and “EWG HEALTHY LIVING HOME GUIDE: WATER FILTERS

I invite you to do your own research and dive deep into the water…knowledge is power my friends! Stay diligent!
