→ The Big Book of Organic Baby Food by Stephanie Middleberg MS RD CDN | Instagram | Website |

My Experience: I found out about this book thanks to my friend Rachel who gifted it to us at our baby shower! (Thank you again!) I reference this book when I am looking for inspiration on what to cook for my baby...and I’m not wanting to ‘google it’. We started feeding Naia solids (purees) when she turned 6 months…naturally (around 9 months) I found myself grabbing for this book less frequently as I did in the beginning. I had developed a good understanding of how to make my daughters food, what to combine, and what she could or couldn’t have yet. These days it’s more like I open the fridge and scan for what we have and what she hasn’t tried yet! I still appreciate this book and would recommend it if you are a first time parent and plan on cooking meals for your little ones! This book is great to have on hand (I read/flipped through it a lot while pumping lol) or to gift to your pregnant mama friend.

The links I provided are non-affiliate links. They are also links for the book in a ‘new condition’. You could definitely find them cheaper used…or on kindle if you use that kind of thing.

SOLID STARTS

First Foods Database for Babies

My Experience: LOVE this website! When certain foods were no where to be found in my physical baby food book…I would then be ‘Googling’ my questions and eventually end up on Solid Starts website. For example…when can a baby eat Seaweed? …or when can a baby eat walnuts…or any nuts? They also have lots of tips on all things “real” baby food: like starting solids, introducing allergens, baby led weening...the list goes on. The website content is created by a team of food + feeding experts, doctors, and moms. This site is a vast collection of baby food knowledge that they call their ‘First Foods® Database’ and it’s free to access! The only thing they have for sale are compiled guides you can purchase if you desire. Sidenote: From the user experience side…I appreciate what a wonderful UX design/layout that the site has. I appreciate the modern and clean vibe. Bookmark this website to your browser now.
